Eligibility Criteria:

  • Educational Qualification: Candidates must possess a B.E /B.tech degree or diploma in Engineering from a recognized university or institute. The relevant fields include Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, and Signal & Telecommunications Engineering.
  • Age Limit: Applicants must be between 18 to 36 years of age. Age relaxation is provided for reserved categories as per government norms:
  • SC/ST: 5 years
  • OBC: 3 years
  • PwD (General): 10 years
  • PwD (OBC): 13 years
  • PwD (SC/ST): 15 years

  • Mode of Application: Applications must be submitted online through the official RRB websites. The recruitment process is conducted by various Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) across India.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Technical Oversight: Supervise and manage various technical works related to Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, and Signal & Telecommunications departments.
  • Safety & Efficiency: Ensure that all railway operations and infrastructure adhere to safety protocols and operational efficiency.
  • Maintenance & Upgradation: Coordinate with engineering teams to ensure the maintenance and upgradation of railway assets, including tracks, signaling systems, and other infrastructure components.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve technical issues to minimize downtime and ensure smooth railway operations.

Selection Process:

  1. Computer Based Test (CBT):
  • Stage I:
    • Duration: 90 minutes
    • Number of Questions: 100
    • Subjects: Mathematics, General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Awareness, General Science
  • Stage II:
    • Duration: 120 minutes
    • Number of Questions: 150
    • Subjects: General Awareness, Physics and Chemistry, Basics of Computers and Applications, Basics of Environment and Pollution Control, Technical Abilities
  1. Document Verification: Candidates who qualify in the CBT will be called for document verification to ensure that they meet all the eligibility criteria.
